On April 4, 2025, ISLE hosted the 1st Innovation Workshop, which reviewed progress on key technologies including Floating Treatment Wetlands, Aerated Vertical-flow Treatment Wetlands with Geopolymers, and Electroactive Biofilm-based Treatment Wetlands. These systems treat landfill leachate to meet water reuse standards.
The workshop brought together project innovators and the Innovation Board—experts in waste management, research, engineering, and investment—whose insights are guiding the refinement of technology development and business strategies.

Álvaro Silva Teira, LIFE GREEN ADAPT Project Coordinator at AIMEN, said:
“Our first innovation workshop was a valuable opportunity to share the foundational design thinking and milestones of our prototypes. Thanks to all who participated! Our upcoming second workshop will focus on showcasing concrete results from ongoing operations. Stay tuned!”
Two more Innovation Workshops are planned to continue knowledge sharing and support the adoption of these cutting-edge solutions.
We’re also excited to share that LIFE GREEN ADAPT has been featured in Smart Water Magazine:
