Chinese Academy of Science polluted water management courses – Aarhus Universitet

In November 2023 and 2024, Carlos Arias of Aarhus Universitet (AU) delivered polluted water management courses, as well as a PhD course in December 2025, at the Chinese Academy of Science. These courses focused on the value of liquid stream treatment technologies innovated within the framework of the LIFE GREEN ADAPT project, with particular emphasis on electroactive treatment wetlands for contaminant removal and pollution reduction in landfill leachates.

Technological University of Xi’an courses – Aarhus Universitet

Carlos Arias of Aarhus Universitet (AU) delivered a training course to PhD and master’s students, as well as to engineering students at the Technological University of Xi’an in China in November 2025. Online course through UNESCO Chair on Sustainability – UPC

From 25-27 November 2025, the online course “From Wastewater to Resources: Circular Solutions for a Climate-Resilient Future” was held in collaboration with UNEP and the UNESCO Chair on Sustainability (UPC). Supported by project partner AU, this course focused on resource recover and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the wastewater cycle.

Workshop on vulnerability risk assessment tools and benefits – GLOBAL FACTOR

Project partner GLOBAL FACTOR hosted an event, alongside Aclima titled “Adaptation of waste infrastructures to climate change” in Bilbao, Spain on 26 November 2025. The session reviewed risk assessment methods aligned with the IPCC and showcased LIFE GREEN ADAPT, including its infrastructure vulnerability assessment tool. Attendees explored climate risks and opportunities, learned about the Basque Government’s NbS strategy, and participated in collaborative brainstorming.
